The museum will be hosting a welcoming event on the evening of Tuesday October 12^th for artists. The festival will begin on Wednesday October 13^th and the Final Event and Awards ceremony will be October 17^th at 4:00pm. If you are staying at a private residence, please communicate with your host to coordinate arrival times.

Registration is open to artists but space is limited! Please be sure to register early to secure your spot. Juror Phil Sandusky will be choosing 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Place pieces at the Final Event.

Canvas, panel, paper, wood boards, etc. of any size up to 11”x14”; oil, acrylic, partel, watercolor, gouache, ink and pencil are all acceptable.

The museum’s café and media room will be divided into 3ft-4ft sections and assigned to each artist. Artists are encourage to hang up artwork as it is completed. All work must have accompanying label filled out. You may get more labels from the museum’s front desk.

No limit other than space! Paintings must be hung on the wall to be available for sale. Please keep this in mind while planning out your pieces.

Artists will be asked to choose two pieces to be entered for jurying. They must be framed and marked for sale.

Artists may come to the Alexandria Museum of Art during operating hours to have canvases stamped, Tuesday – Friday 10am-5pm; Saturday 10am-4pm.

Yes, please sign all artwork on the front and/or back. Additionally, please fill out an information card with all details for the museum’s records. Cards will be available at the museum’s front desk throughout the festival.

Some housing is available on a first come first serve basis. Please be sure to mark you need housing in your registration. An email will be sent with confirmation that housing will be provided once you are matched with a host.

Yes, artists are required to provide their own supplies for the entirety of the festival.
